Hair D'zign is our Hairdressing Centre in West London where we carry out all forms of hair treatments, hair styling, provide hair extensions and wigs and we offer all manner of tests and treatments for a wide variety of hair problems. We offer much more than a standard hair salon.
We also operate this website where you can buy the majority of the products that we use and supply in the salon. A few products ideally require a consultation to determine exactly what would be appropriate for you and we prefer to carry out the consulations in the salon. If this is not possible we will try to arrange a detailed discussion with one of our consultants.
The Hair D'zign philosophy is to seek products that, where possible, are made from natural ingredients, are environmentally friendly, ethically and sustainably sourced, are definitely NOT tested on animals and are organic in origin. We also aim to offer products for specific ethnic hair types: Afro, Asian and European. Not least we want all our products to do what they claim to do in every respect and to be 'side effect free'. Some of the products we offer are not easily obtainable elsewhere in Britain or even in Europe. Many of our products are suitable for vegans.
We are growing our business and we have acquired a hair salon in West London. Hair D'zign Studio in Maida Vale is carrying forward the Hair D'zign philosophy of seeking to offer all-natural products wherever possible. The salon is offering all of the usual hair styling services, cutting, colouring, wash and blowdry etc as well as majoring in Afro Styling Techniques, Hair Extensions and Wigs. We are offering a FULL WIG SERVICE from initial consultation, sourcing and supplying ready-made quality wigs, both synthetic and 100% human hair right through to making bespoke wigs to special order. We are now also able to offer FREE La Biosthetique hair and scalp tests and follow up with appropriate treatments from the various La Biosthetique Methodes systems.
The Hair D'zign philosophy has been developed from two points of view. Firstly, we have looked at how businesses can help rather than harm our planet and its population. Sustainability and ethical issues have become very 'fashionable' recently and it is becoming quite usual for customers to ask about these issues and to demand products that comply with these approaches. At Hair D'zign we want to be leaders rather than followers so we have taken the decision that all of our products will be made from ingredients that are environmentally friendly, ethically and sustainably sourced, are definitely NOT tested on animals and are organic in origin.
Secondly, and as just as importantly, we have looked very hard at what some products do to our bodies. Very many 'high street' products for hair, skin and beauty care contain some really horrible ingredients that can cause all sorts of allergic reactions, side effects and unwanted results. This part of our philosophy is also consumer-led to some extent but our governments and large multi-national companies are not behaving very responsibly in this regard because a great deal of investment goes into making these well-known, mass-market products (and a great deal of profit is generated). In passing, I would say that Cosing (European Union) has made a slightly better attempt at banning the very worst ingredients than has the FDA (USA) but there is still a very long way to go.....
So, we are also adopting the slogan: Say No to SLS*
* Whilst Sodium Laureth Sulphate (Sulfate) is by no means the only horrible common ingredient in hair and skin care products, or even the worst one, it is almost universally used and all it does is make products 'foam up'. We suggest you Google it; we are sure you will be appalled.
